education is another problem (strong proponent of good public education BTW) but with kids and being very involved with the system.. I have seen so many terrible teachers protected in their ineptitude by their unions.. and this is not sour grapes.. We work with our kids a lot and are blessed with very bright ones.. so mine will be fine.. As to university.. should be results based as to subsidy.. if it's free with no strings folks put no value on it.. it becomes an abused right instead of an earned privilege.. My neighbourhood is middle to upper middle class.. my home on lower end @ 450K... lots of self employed tradesmen.. university not a panacea... and in fact oft times a time waster...
