The ES3301 provides a flexible interface to an external DVD-ROM drive, incorporates DVD copy protection that is fully compliant with the Content Scrambling System (CSS) specification, complete feature set for system navigation software, and programmable user interface without external microcontroller. The ES3301 and ES3308 solution comes with ESS SmartStream technology, which can improve the playability and image quality of a scratched disc, and SmartZoom, which can arbitrarily zoom and pan across that image.
