It's not the city's credit scores ... it's the average credit scores of people living in the cities. Note the preponderence of low avg credit scores and border states, plenty of CA as well as TX cities there and for the same reason.

Clearly, cities in BLUE states have the best credit scores, while deadbeat cities in RED states, including TX, have the WORST.
