[Motorola?]-- Does MOT sit idly by while its three alpha
partners(wstl, amtx, ericcson) take a walk to txn and adi?Is it in
MOT's best interests to come up with a better offer or are they
working with others to see coppergold to a final conclusion?

Amati shareholders would like to know.

[MOT]

<<<On another note, what happens to Amati's relationship with Mot now?>>>

Good question. I'm assuming it's still in place, though how it will play out is anyone's guess. I think Motorola sealed its own fate when it chose to design a single-chip solution against everyone's advice. By the time they succeed, they may have lost their customers to other sources.

It's a cruel world and much of it I don't understand.

BTW, I've phoned TI to ask what happens if I don't tender and thus end up in the second-tier merger group and the man with whom I spoke said he'd find out and call me back.

I'll let you know --
