Technically speaking things look OK (and just OK) to me. Gold broke up out of a ascending triangle and is grinding slowly upward in a narrow range with the usual bumps along the way. A V bottom would have been nice, but no love there and unfortunately like you have been saying the critical fights are still ahead.

Are bank short sales still banned in EZ?
Has to be contributing in drawing up "US" financials.
They're popping despite recently lowered estimates
They're due for extended reported losses if the gubbamint would stop rescuing them
