<<<<The problem is it didn't happen>>>>>>

You can't say that with any more certainty than I can that he did react to God talking to him! AND BTW, I agree it never happened. I'm certain of that. But I also think he may believe God was talking to him.

<<<<<. Further, it's based on the idea that religious people go around acting like psychos driven by invisible voices.>>>>>>

Oh gosh! Nothing could be further from the truth. Why do you have to lump all religious people in one basket? I sure don't. AND I think most - please read MOST here - Christians are some of the very best examples of what we should all strive to be. BUT, I'm not blinded by religion to such an extreme that I can realize there can be dangerous zealots amongst Christians. I also believe there are many people who use their religion as a crutch to lean on because of their weaknesses. And in the case of Bush, I think he used it as an excuse for what he did. Maybe I would have too if I'd been in his position and made the decision he did. He has to live with his decision - it would be much easier to live with if he thought God was on his side in the decision.

When asked at one point if he asked his father for advice, didn't he say he got his advice or guidance from a higher power???
