Newt is just another politician. What he says bears no resemblance to what he does. Remember, Newt created the "Contract with America". and the Republicans used that to take control of Con-gress for the first time in over 80 years. Then with Newt in charge, they promptly forgot all the promises in the contract and did the opposite, blaming their actions on Clinton's popularity. Any excuse will do for a politician only interested in wealth and power for himself and the men behind the curtain.

This is what they do. The ones not in control pretend to represent the opposite views of those in control (and often that opposing view is the prevailing view of the common people.) They pretend that the political machinery offers a choice if only people vote. But only the chosen few can run for national office in either of the major parties, those chosen by the parties to be loyal to the puppeteers, e.g., John McCain. The election rules have been set by those 2 parties and no third party has a chance of breaking through because the 2 parties don't want competition. They are like the big banks in that respect. They like the political cartel as it is. So there is no real choice in the political process. Many people are so brainwashed that voting will eventually solve the problem that they blame those who don't vote. Einstein's definition of insanity applies to voting in the USA: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
