There was this little Housing/Credit Bubble for the ages that unwound and the house of cards collapsed in 2007 something you never see any GOP hack ever mention... The impact of this as it pertains to household net worth, jobs, consumer confidence, spending patters takes a long time to work out of. The deleveraging process the past five years has taken out a lot of the excess debt from the system at a lot of pain that was once 'pleasure' as folks were taking out $50-100k a year equity out during the gogo years of 2003-06 and recycling it into the economy..
