Yes, the taxpayer is on the hook. Defecit spending is the reason. The situation has not changed. They merely kick the can down the road until the 1st quarter 2012 where they will need more money to finance the Federal Governments spending habits. They even cut Social Security payroll tax, this year, by 1/3, for the employee so as to put more dollars in his/her pocket hoping they might spend it. Remember how much had been written on Social Security being insolvent ? It a damn shame that Wall St has such a hold over our economy and our way of life in this country. The bigger fear is the 'can kicking'. These problems we face now will only get worse.
