ALL... IRS written communication comes in a small brown envelope with Govt. postage.

Believe me.

They probably would suggest you pay the bill using a prepaid Visa card.

It's a scam. Of that I am 110% certain.

I am having issues with insurance. Lynne's doc wants to discharge her to a skilled nursing facility where she can get some PT and strength training for 10 days - 2 weeks. The Medicare Advantage Plan denied. Doc appealed. Denied. It is now with someone called "Maximus Federal Services." Apparently a third party appellate mediator. Buddy of mine who spent his career working for Premera Blue Cross and it's prior iterations said to me, if something is denied, appeal. If appeal is denied, appeal another level. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The absurdity of this is amazing to me. Lynne is in no shape to be discharged to the home, and her doc is unlikely to do so. So what we have is Regence saying, we won't pay for skilled nursing (at what cost? $500/day?) but unless there is a safe discharge solution, she will stay in the hospital at what cost? $2,000 per day? Everyone says the insurers are all "going by Medicare standards." So what we have is a small foretaste of what life will be like under Obamacare.

What pisses me off is they don't want to pay for the skilled nursing care. So what do they want? On some level I think they want her to drop all treatment and go directly to hospice. The death panels are just around the corner.
