Don't forget Lincoln was a Republican>> Yes, TR (a progressive) was a reconstructionist who fought the Robber Barrons of the day; and I would remind you that when Lincoln was a Republican, the Republcian party was the liberal party of the day. The right wingers love to claim lincoln just as they love to overlook the fact it was dixiecrats who voted agains the 1964 civil rights act, not liberals. Every single liberal voted for it. They know their party was on the wrong side and so try revisionist history. It seems every couple of generations the rich and powerful gain enough power to put their foot on the necks of the midddle class. And here we are again today with the citizens United decision and 1/10 of 1% of the peopel running the country with their own personal fascist Republican party. So once again the liberals will take action. Just like they always do. Because they are the ones who see the problem and the solution.
