South Korean Men Must Take Marriage Classes ... AT LEAST WHEN MARRYING A FOREIGN BRIDE By Dustin Lushing, Newser Staff newser.com Posted Oct 14, 2011 3:40 PM CDT (NEWSER) – Men in South Korea who wish to marry a foreign woman are now required to enroll in courses designed to teach them how to be a good husband to a non-Korean bride, reports the Christian Science Monitor. The mandatory lessons come on the heels of a surge in failed marriages among middle-aged men and their younger spouses who hail from Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Mongolia. Korean women are increasingly moving out of their hometowns and into cities to start a career, shifting the demographics and leaving many older men with no option but to seek brides from outside of the country. More than 100,000 female immigrants, many of whom are looking to escape the poverty of their home countries, are now wedded to Korean men. Contributing to the rash of broken marriages, say experts, is the lack of government oversight of agencies that find brides for Korean men.

In a message on his website spotted by USA Today, Camping says that Oct. 21, “at this point, looks like it will be the final end of everything.” See, as he explains in this post, the rapture really did happen on May 21—that day marked “the completion of God’s salvation program.” The prophesied “earthquakes” were really man-quakes, because man was made out of dirt in Genesis, and mankind shook with fear on May 21—get it? So anyone who wasn’t saved by May 21 “will be annihilated together with the whole physical world on October 21, 2011.” Still, Camping’s predicting a more modest Apocalypse this time. “I really am beginning to think … that there’s going to be no big display of any kind,” he said in a recent radio address, according to Time. “The end is going to come very, very quietly.”
