Mephisto,

Experience shows that thread purity is an impossible task. Numerous threads have proliferated, in a never-ending attempt to achieve it, and the only thing that has come of it is that it's harder to find people. There is a long-standing relationship between Ask Galt and Feelings anyway. The discussion on this thread seems quite manageable, in terms of the number and content of posts, and Christine herself has said that she values both male and female energy, which is what it really comes down to.

As far as starting my own thread, I am interested in talking to certain people, about various subjects, not just about a particular subject. We don't need another thread. Everyone is already here.

However, if Christine asks me to leave, I will, but only because she was here first. But if I stay, I'll discuss the things that are important to me, and if others want to talk about planting bulbs, so be it. One has as much relevance to "feelings" as the other.

Skipper

>>"Christine doesn't seem spellbound by your discussion."<<

Christine is so spellbound that she is speechless and agonizing over her incomprehension of what everybody is saying. She is trying to figure out what JFred is saying about global warming and duck hunting.

<<Painters like Rembrandt & Renoir have formulated and eternalized their
notion of reality. Shakespeare discerned the struggles of the soul while
Einstein struggeled with theories about the universe. Each genius has
approached the question of existence in his own unique way.>>

Aye, the Poets!!! Yes, poets do have a special eye that can carve reality
out of the mural. And it is your good fortune, Mephisto, that you should
encounter one, today. Yes, Mephisto, John Galt is a poet. But he is more
than just a poet. He is POET-MAN!!!

John Galt

<<It is true though that if you look at the problem simplistically, for
example, from a child's point of view, your response may be limited to what
the child can understand.>>

Mephisto, John Galt was only a very small child when confronted with the
problem that "God has no beginning and no end." Little Johnny drew a
circle. "I figured it out! I figured it out!", he exclaimed.

Years later, as it turned out, Stephen Hawkins drew an identical 'boundary'
around the Universe. "eh...ehhhh...eh.....ehhhhhh....eh....ehhhhhhhhhh!",
Stephen Hawkins exclaimed.

<<If you look at the problem from Einstein's or Leakey's viewpoint, the
information presented to you will be more complex.>>

Einstein's 'point of view' was formulated as a child as he imagined riding
a beam of light.

<<In my opinion, looking at the notion of existence from a child's
viewpoint, as you have explained it above, is a waste of time unless you
are writing children's stories, music, cartoon etc.>>

Mephisto, do not dismiss the innocent imaginings of children so readily.
Adults like yourself and Jfreddy come clogged with an accumulation of shit
over a lifetime! Know that because a problem is complex does not
necessarily point it closer to reality. The measure of complexity has
little to do with discovery and truth. In fact, it is often simplicity
that wins the day..
