I usually don't lose many fish, I lost three this tournament, the big one day one was the key to success it may have been big bass of the tournament had I boated it. Bummer dudes, it's the realities of fishing what can I say....someday's it's frustrating, okay, most days<g> I guess the wheels came off day2, I thought I had something figured out. I had six bites two where keepers for only about 3lbs, both came unhooked? I'm not sure what I did wrong. I was working the gizzard shad bite. I threw mostly a small square bill sexy shad, white spinnerbait and flipped a black/blue and white Biffle bug and a white and a black Zoom mag trick worm, I also threw a gold excalibur trap and a chrome/blue red eye trap some. My co-anger managed 2 for 4lbs, his came on spinner, small paddle tail worm flipping tight to rock. There was a morning bite which I thought would be a bonus, I was counting on the late afternoon bite. I couldn't get any topwater action my topwater of choice was a buzzbait but it didn't work in practice or on day1. I threw a white soft body frog a few times on day2. I had a friend who lives in Bossier City catch a nice 4.25lber the last 10mins he said on a frog day2 to save his tournament, he still missed the cut. I talked to another Okla angler after the event who said he was catching them good on a frog, He said he caught them good in practice then did poorly day1, but then came back with a good 11# bag day2 on the frog. I probably should have pulled the buzzbait back out on day2 but kept my confidence in the crankbait...I zeroed on the sq.bill and spinnerbait, that's hard to do, so it killed my place in the standings, I think I'd like a do over<g> My last tournament of the year is the rescheduled Bassmaster Open on Table Rock starting Thur. However, I'm not competing as a boater this time. So as a co-angler all I need is for my boaters that I draw to put me on fish. I've been getting reports the fishing is still tough on Table Rock these cooler nights should start them moving shallow and get them feeding up...it didn't happen on the river. Fishing is never easy... even harder to make a living at it. LOL, It' like being the counter party trade to goldman sucks?
