Loco

I suspect there are some down sides to the 999 plan or any other plan. There are also upsides. Today millions of illegals live in the US and don't pay any or very little taxes to the federal government. Under 999 they pay 9% on their purchases.

The current tax code is so complicated even high ranking government officials can't get it right or they could be evaders. I can't think of how they could avoid the 9% sales tax.

I personally love 999. But I don't think it's good politics.

And, BTW, on a positive note for 999, I disagree with those that say it will not raise enough revenues. My back of the envelope calculations show it raises almost exactly the same revenue the current tax system does, provided there are no exemptions from the 9% sales tax.
