I think QNTM took it harder today for two reasons. First, this is the first time in a long time that QNTM has had neutral to slightly negative revisions. So perhaps thinking investors are speculating this may be an inflection point. In any case, since this is the very first bad news on QNTM on the earnings revision front, the reaction is harsher. WDC and SEG have already been hammered mercilessly. They have gotten flamed, in other words, even more than I do.

Second, QNTM did get at least one downgrade today from Hambrecht. Downgrades are less significant than earnings revisions, but they still count. It would be important to understand the reasoning behind the downgrade. Perhaps someone else can help. But again, the downgrade may be seen as the start of an inflection point for QNTM. So a lot of investors probably fled for this reason.

Happy Investing!
