Also think that the Sierra Nevada's had record snows as well, but not sure, maybe SmoothSail could tell us.

Folks up there both complained and cheered the snowpack last year. They posted many pictures to show the depth. My daughter sent me a picture showing how they had to tunnel to the front door because the snow was up to the eaves of the house.

The article below states that the snowpack was one of the biggest on record - and that was in March. More was to come.

Just as an aside, the temperatures at night have been below freezing for most of the summer. They're complaining that they barely had a summer, looked forward to the fall only to get a blizzard 2 weeks ago.
