How many steppers are there now churning out ICs? >5,000? How many DUV steppers? Now about 200. By year 2000, about 2000? How many XRL steppers? Now about 20. By year 2000, about 50? How many XRL steppers using JMAR source? Now 1? By year 2000, maybe 10? How much profit is usually obtained on anybody's first ten production units? Lucky to break even, IMO. Conclusion: Cymer (DUV) is the one that will make the big $s on litography. JMAR's bread and butter will, for a long time, be its PPL products. Tulvio
