SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 1997 NOV 19 (NB) -- By Stuart Kennedy, Computer Daily News. Socket 7 chip warrior AMD Australia [NYSE:AMD] has given its Intel MMX-challenging K6 chip a marketing makeover. The K6/200 and 233MHz data shifters will now be sold as the AMD Processor In a Box (PIB), complete with box, fan, heatsink and a dab of thermal grease. Fresh resellers for the PIB have also been drummed up. APD International in Australia will take on the product while Datamatic will cover the New Zealand market.
