Gold is natural resource. Finance industry is enterprising people.

Johannesburg my mate told me: All that here is result of gold mined. That building coffee barons money. São Paulo is coffee-financed industrialization.

We need enterprise to put:
capital,
technology,
natural and human resources
with the goal to enrich ourselves and make our lives better.

Each of these above alone, cannot make an economy.

AK dividend is based on fund earnings, so it can theoretically continue if resources dry up. Depends on how government is funded in post-oil scenario. The state budget is ~10x the dividend payout, and comes directly from resource taxes. We need to find more oil soon, or else things become dire...
