I have been looking at family pictures of the last 35 years as my 54 year old sister in law passed away.
The only happily married couple out of our extented family is me. Smiles on our faces in 98% of these photos. The smartest thing I ever did was draw up an agreement for a 50/50 split, so when we had our knockdown drag out fights there was no monetary incentive to go for the jugular.

My in laws ,Italians, have the guinea frown , literally in every picture of their life.
When the husbands have died (2 out of 3) the wives smiled for the first time since they were married.
These guys were brought up with only the men allowed to speak at the table. Their mother and sisters were there to wait on them and keep their mouths shut.

I agree most people do not know how to share, greed and hurt wins out
and you have a Cluster Fark.
