No, Bob Brinker's record does NOT speak for itself. Bobby keeps all those disastrous calls off the books. You do remember some of those don't you? Like "Act Immediately" and buy QQQ at $83...Or TEFQX? He spent one whole issue of Marketimer touting TEFQX, and three years following up on those QQQ blunders. But you knew that.

The only reason Marketimer squeaks into Hulbert's twenty year slot is because Hulbert gives Bob Brinker a mulligan on his QQQ trade that recommended using model portfolio cash reserves-- up to 50% of it!!

Mark even lies for Brinker. He knows (I wrote to him with the facts) that Brinker "chose" not to include the trade the month AFTER he sent the bulletin to subscribers:

Here's the footnote from Mark Hulberts Financial Digest: "Please note: In late 2000, Brinker forecasted a several-month bear market rally and recommended an investment in the NASDAQ 100 Index—a trade that turned out quite unprofitably. However, because Brinker at the time of making this forecast chose not to make this trade part of his model portfolios, his HFD record has not suffered as a result."

Now tell us where he ranked in Mark Hulberts Financial Digest over the past five or ten years. I can't find Marketimer there at all.

PS: Thanks for reading my blog. I see that you are aware of the discussion about Mark's use of the Sharpe ratio....
