Anyone catch the news on Quantum laying off 250 people today? I think I saw it on Peter Jennings in the world news, but not positive if I had channel surffed right at that time. There was one other company mentioned for lay offs.

I'd be interested in learning about competition from Maxtor. At least according to recent ads in CompUSA, Computer City, etc., Maxtor is aggressively pricing drives up into the 8.4 gig range.
