Economic Activity Professionally, I have access to various economic forecasts by the major recognizable firms. One which I respect, but will not name, published a forecast yesterday to their clients indicating that there are no states in the U. S. which are currently in a recession. Nevada, the last state to emerge from recessionary times, is picking up its economic pace. Further, out of all the metro areas they measure in the U.S. 90% are not in a recession and those that are are typically capitals of the biggest states that are still cutting back government workers.
