So long, Marianne was one of the first of his songs I learned, as it had easy chords and it was as slow as my fingers. <G> Jennifer Warnes (sp) did an album of his songs called Famous Blue Raincoat. But she preferred most of the weepy ones.

I remember one critic commenting on Eric Anderson's superb album "Blue River." He said that people listened to Eric Anderson when they wanted to come down after a Leonard Cohen album. But I think both have a few happy songs. "The Sisters of Mercy" seems happy to me.
