I have to admit, Lucent is one company that I am leery of
in terms of competing with cos. that I own. However, they
don't seem real big at production. My own impression is
that they invent things. do you think they can carry off
such a revolution that involves much more than science.

I mean, Microsoft is hardly the inventor of most of its
stuff. We all know they stole the ideas, but the technology
was only half. Intel seems to have an equal stranglehold
on its market. Do you see the stranglehold being broken
or the market going away?

I dont mean to be one of the assholes ( i do own some shares),
but would like to understand your points a bit better.

Regards,

J

<Once Lucent joins the anti Wintel effort watch out>

Paul, by your response, I assume that you think that just because Lucent can produce something in the lab, it is just as good as being in production. Intel is not in the business of producing labratory curiosities. You have no clue as to what they may have running in their labs. They produce production products by the 100's of millions. Apparently you don't see a difference, I do. No one else on this planet has ever produced processors on anywhere near this scale. AMD seems incapable of producing a tiny fraction of Intel's volume on a process that is a full generation behind. No one else on this planet is in a position to produce on this scale either. You seem to think that publishing a datasheet is equivilent to challenging Intel. I think it will take more than that. Talk is cheap and we have seen a lot of that from you. Someday Cyrix is going to have to produce, if they are ever going to pose the challange you seem to think they will. AMD has talked alot and fallen on their face. Cyrix has yet to demonstrate they can deliver. It's nice to be able to talk, and that is all we have seen from you. Talk is easy, production is hard.

Re: "HAving put all of your eggs in the monopoly basket you guys are about become a real basket case."

WHO is the real basket case here???

techstocks.com

The INTC chart is looking great. FIANDOLLA, when INTC hits 85 next week, will you surrender?

PS. Ooooh, I'm really scared of Novell and Java. :-)

Paul, re: Lucent, IBM, SUNW, ORACLE, NOVL, etc. etc.

Who among these companies has a prayers chance of manufacturing this wonder product once it's invented?

I think I'll keep my Intel and MSFT shares. Oh, and my IBM and Lucent shares as well (just in case).

Paul - Re: " Then WIntel is history."

Yes, Novell and Cyrix will dominate the industry and return you to mere financial solvency!

Keep dreaming!

I personally like SUNW too, but with the installed base like Wintel's Intel will never ever be a history.

Then why do you spend so much time trying to convince us? Are you the big hearted saint or what? Let us whistle past the grave yard with our heads in the sand. Anyone else care to ad a cliche?
