Austin Flea party "Joker" pulls knife - I'm guessing someone will die at one of these protests w/i a week or so:

Man in Joker Make-Up Gets Angry, Pulls Knife at Occupy Austin John on October 24, 2011 at 12:56 am

Why so serious?

This is video of right after the man in the Joker make-up was arrested. I’ve skipped to a section near the end of this clip where a woman who apparently knows him describes how this started. Then someone else covers the camera:

He got pissed off because someone was calling him snitch and he f&*king got one of his knives…and brought it down and supposedly threatened a person…

If you watch the whole clip from the beginning you can see that the girl who covered the camera has a cell phone video of the entire incident which she is showing to the police. Needless to say, that video hasn’t appeared on You Tube and never will.

Update: So the story is that this 23 year old, Billy Joe Lewis-Kubisiak, was a drunk transient who started a fight over food. But that’s not what his girlfriend said in the clip. And the other video notes that police couldn’t confirm he was homeless. Also, KXAN’s written story notes that these details are not in the arrest report:

The arrest affidavit however did not confirm that this was a verbal altercation over food, only that Kubisiak got into an altercation with another man while walking up the stairs at city hall. The affidavit also did not describe Kubisiak as transient or intoxicated…

Some occupiers described Kubisiak as a ‘bad apple’–something you can find in any large group.

Very curious.

Another day, another sexual assault at a Democratic supported Flea Party:

Another Reported Sexual Assault, This Time at Occupy Lawrence John on October 24, 2011 at 11:16 pm

The LJ World reports on two assaults that happened at Occupy Lawrence in Kansas over the weekend. The first was a punch thrown. The second was, reportedly, a sexual assault that took place Sunday night:

someone who had been at the Occupy Lawrence camp reported on Monday morning a possible sexual assault. He said he did not believe the victim or any possible suspects were members of the group but rather were transients who stayed in one of the group’s tents Sunday night.

Though he was not present at the camp Sunday night, Phoenix said he was told of the filing of the sexual assault report. He said that witnesses had told him that two men and one woman came into the camp seeking a place to sleep and were offered one of the open tents. He said that group members were “deeply affected” by the events and were considering new measures to ensure their safety within the park, including distribution of a flier titled “Creating a safe space,” which asks participants to “refrain from engaging in activities that are not conducive to creating and maintaining a safe space.”

The Occupy Lawrence members were told to vacate the park at night last Thursday:

Saturday 10 members of the group were ticketed but a local lawyer offered to help them fight the tickets. Now, with the reported sexual assault, the authorities concerns about having people sleep overnight in the park have proved justified.
