You are a perfect example of a Tea Party brainwashed person wherein the Govt. can do no right. The taxpayers are being taken for a ride. There is doom ahead with this GDP spending ratio going down the drain etc. etc. And then, I have not heard you say anything about Bush having driven this country so deep down into a hole by fighting two wars on credit and looting the Treasury through tax breaks to the rich etc. etc. But most of all, you do not suggest any solution. I listened to Ron Paul's solution where he says that if a person falls sick he/she should go to the church for help!!! Another Republican Senator said that the sick should start praying and expect to be cured. Isn't that kind of something that Steve Jobs initially did?

So we need to settle down and think calmly. What should we do. It is not about Democrats or Republicans all the time. It is about us saving this country for the next generation. Should we let the banks go down? If so then does it solve the mortgage crisis. If it doesn't then why even suggest that the banks should be allowed to go down? should we take over (socialize) the banks. Why not when other countries have succeeded by doing so. Why the shunning of a collective responsibility. Is it realistic to equate a nation's budget to that of a household budget in terms of income, expenditures and deficits. Or are they two different in that the nation can garner a lot more than a individual family can when it comes to retiring the debt?

Let us have some sensible discussions and exchange of ideas here instead of one based on one liner excitables from politicians. We just need to tell the politicians that it is they who should follow our thoughts instead of politicians leading us.

If Americans have a lick of sense, it makes no difference what Obama is, whatever it is, it is a thousand times better than anything on the right. It is like quibbling over the type of democrat Obama is (center left or right) and complete insanity.

What David Brooks and other's miss is that the right wing is not sane, let alone intellectually competent to run the country. I have problems with Obama, but really, take a good hard look at those Republican presidential nominee's.

None of them can be president or we go right down the rabbit hole with Alice.

And it is crazy to think there is anyone on the right to bargain with. They just make shit up. Like Lindsey Grahm and Mccain dissing Obama for leaving Iraq. That is just crazy talk. All they want to do is destroy Obama and they are willing to destroy the country to do so.

What we liberals have been saying from day one is that Obama would gain nothing by trying to cooperate with them. It is like trying to have a logical conversation with someone who thinks aliens are controlling their thoughts or corporate criminals. I think we were correct. If he gained something by trying to work with the right I missed it.

The Republican party has devolved into a mindless parody of itself. And they are the only other choice.

And Obama does a lot of things very well as he is thoughtful. His two supreme court nominees were great. None of the Republican's were OK and in fact very dangerous IMO e.g. citizens United Decision.
