It's not normal. The Fed themselves want inflation to be below 2%. Do you remember the massive inflation in the 70s and 80s that lead Volcker to put his foot down and made him famous? If we measured inflation now, the way we did then, the inflation number would be upwards of 10%. Unfortunately, our government is now engaging in Dictator-style tactics such as outright lying to the American people to make things look better than they are. They have changed the CPI calculation specifically to suppress what they share with the public. Luckily for us, the Internet exists, and there are people who make help us look behind the current. I'm not sure why it is that when I criticize the Dems, everyone on this thread comes back to me about how bad the GOP is. I think we all know the GOP are destructive idiots, but that does not excuse the destructive misinformed behaviors of the Dems. I'll continue to criticize both parties until they change their ways or are replaced by pragmatic people with good ideas.
