Then you are doing EXACTLY what you accuse TJ of doing

Exactly wrong. Exactly backwards.

I have no intention of defending pathological acts by my fellow Americans. They occur, and I deplore them.

I do intend to point out to Jay that indefensible things occur in his country. The fact that he denies, deflects, obfuscates, does not change that. One should not defend the indefensible (unless, of course, you are a lawyer, but even so, lying on behalf of a client should get you disbarred).

Snowshoe had it right. The fact that many Chinese people were outraged shows that defending the indefensible is not universal in China, which is a good thing.

Sunday I spent some time talking to a woman of Russian and Turkish ancestry who grew up in Harbin, China. She was telling me about how, when she was young, her parents had to take her to observe public executions, but her mother would always put her hand over the daughter's eyes when the sword came down. Things like that can make people callous.

cb ilaine, the heretofore defender of debt piling, does not understand the word context

she thinks any nation can be invaded and put through cleansing revolution can just bounce back in 18 months

i fear she shall have an opportunity to learn a valuable lesson, as too many of her compatriots unthink as she does

i find the journey to teotwawki very interesting

i must continue trying to save her
