Steve --

I didn't hear the conference call. Do you have a replay number?

<<<Meanwhile, I got some new margin and I feel like gambling....any tips?>>>

Whip me an email. I have to take a position before I spill the beans.

I agree it's been quite a ride -- and you don't know the half of it. You wouldn't believe some of the stories I could tell!! Some so funny we'll have to have a party just to get them out. Some sad, too. But, altogether, it's been an experience I wouldn't have missed for the world.

Do you recall my once saying if I wrote the Amati story it would begin, "I once knew a company named Amati?" -- as in, I once had a farm in Africa? I probably won't write it, but I'm sure I'll be telling tales with the same nostalgia some years down the road.

Cheers!

Pat

My replacement for Amati with similar upside potential and price volatility is Ligand Pharma (LGND). They have a amazingly good pipeline of potential medicaments and hopefully a bright future. And in contrast to Amati where a lot of the good future was already in the stock price, Ligand is seriously undervalued if compared with many other biotechs. And in contrast to Amati Ligand probably has enough cash and income from partners to last till expected profitability in 1999.
