Hello, Don, au contraire, my new cyberfriend, but "most of the last post re: Japan's Insolvency is NOT commonly known," certainly not over here in LaLaLand of Plenty. The solution to Japanese insolvency has been to go find new businesses to LOAN to? The Japanese solution was and is lending to Korea? Why should a content people "consume more?" Why shouldn't content people save? Why shouldn't content people teach their offspring to also be content? If I understood your earlier post on this thread, you blasted Americans for their spending and spoiling most of the worlds resources and yet you now see this as the "solution" to a content people? Personally, I admire the Japanese Consumer's personal restraint. One "needs" food, clothing, shelter, love, a reason for living. Does one need a Toyota AND a Jeep Wrangler? Levi's AND Dockers? 6 VHS VCR's? 2 Cell Phones? 1 computer, let alone a laptop, a desktop PC AND a PDA? Does one need a home, a vacation home, a city apartment AND timeshare? Just what kind of rampant consumerism are you suggesting for these content people? If I follow your logic, the savings there would be reduced, complicating the 57 gov't program of lending Postal Savings funds to insolvent banks and insurance companies... and collide biiiiiiig time w/deficit lending. Furthermore, greed would replace contentment and bring along the caboose of personal credit card debt... Awaiting your interesting reply... O/49r
