Interim Services Launches Enterprise-Wide Client/Server Network Using Scalable 3Com ATM/Ethernet
Switches, Hubs and Routers

BusinessWire, Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at 10:19

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1997--

3Com Systems Expedite Mission-Critical Corporate-Wide
Internet, Intranet and Business Applications for
Leading Staffing Services Provider

3Com Corp. (NASDAQ:COMS) today announced that Interim Services,
one of the world's leading staffing companies, is standardizing its
new enterprise network on 3Com's Transcend Networking architecture.
The $1.5 million network consists of an ATM (asynchronous transfer
mode)/Ethernet local area network (LAN) at the company's
two-building headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. It also will
include shared Ethernet LANs in 650 nationwide offices, a wide area
network (WAN) comprised of frame relay technology and virtual
private networks (VPNs) using Internet connections. Interim, which
became a public company in 1994, now tops sales of more than
approximately $2 billion annually.
Fueled by 3Com's Transcend Networking architecture, Interim is
strategically scaling, managing and extending its network to
accelerate mission-critical information sharing according to its
"Distributed Computing Initiative." The initiative is designed to
support the Interim Commercial Division, which offers staffing and
consulting services in areas such as information technology, legal,
accounting and human resources, and the HealthCare Division, which
places physicians, nurses, therapists and other practitioners at
medical institutions and customers' homes. The firm's key
applications include Internet, intranet, email and office services as
well as access to the firm's customized staffing database -- the
headquarters-based search engine used by all branch offices to match
appropriate personnel with specific customer needs.

It may even be terrific news for anyone interested in the long term outlook!!!!!

We indeed all should hope that Coms current momentum with the Palm will create a once in a lifetime opportunity for the much needed adoption of a new operating system, first confined to the handheld devices market and why not, progressively adopted as an alternative to Windows....with dual major consequences:

- boost Coms shares and marketshare in various technological areas.
- finally give us a real alternative to the mediocre Microsoft operating system!

one can and should dream....
