Yak jerky
:>)

They have been (for free) boarding 2 females for somebody Manette knows. I'm not sure what they get out of it, besides the right to buy supplementary hay. She says the owners don't have much money, and she is sure they get good care this way. IIRC, the owners are spinner/weavers. Also help fire protection by grazing.
OK, more pets than anything, I guess.

Anyway, one had a baby yesterday. The yak, not the spinner-weaver. I dunno; maybe the sw did too.

They are pretty useful; dairy, meat, wool, beast of burden for transportation and agriculture. They also appear to keep elephants away, cuz they haven't been a problem this year.
