Had Obama taken his health care plan to the people he just might have gotten a decent bill, retained control of Congress, controlled the legislative agenda and we would now be posting comments about the World Series.

He should have done what Clinton did which is even before his swearing in, he should have convened a economic summit to address the jobs issue. He miscued thinking that health would be important over jobs. If people have jobs, then they would not have as much of a health issue as they are having now that they do not have jobs. We really need to quit thinking from a political and ideological angle. He could have taken the health issue to the people and provided a greater focus on that by way of single payer etc. But then if that did not address the jobs issue, then the health care and what he could have/should have done becomes irrelevant. After all, that good old adage still holds true and does not change with the times. And that adage is "It is the economy, stupid."
