Wiz, Re: "Some light at the end of the high tech tunnel has emerged in recent days. Imho, the rash of apparent breakthroughs in overcoming bandwitdth and speed limitation on net access etc is going to propel us to a whole new dimension in interconetivity. You ain't seen nothing yet. These new breakthroughs and new standards will soon render 56k and ISDN obsolete"

Could you be more specific about the breakthroughs and standards you referred to?

Barry

Hello Wiz. none of your posts got lost on this end. gg. I normally read all the posts, sometimes a bit late when I am away. As you noticed that is how I sent you a message in the first place.

Remember my post to you from last night? The analysts took this post to heart and are now positiv on tech again. What else is there you want to go up? I will put the word out. gg.

It's about time the techs get some attention again. Like I mentioned to you yesterday, techs, telecom, drugs and financials among others will take us to the 21st century.

As far as I am concerned the only caveat is our terrible trade deficit. I don't care what anybody says, it can't be good forever. I know that textiles, shoes and toys are not on our priority list, but all those jobs lost will be hard to get back when thinks get tougher again. I think we should be tougher on those countries with big trade gains at our expense. We are still booming but our exports went down this month and with those low currencies everywhere we will have an influx of imports. It has to be a negative at some point. That is my big beef with those trade agreements. I don't want to sound like a trade protectionist but there comes a time when we should put our foot down. I know it is not much talked about because a lot of our Govt.employees end up with jobs for foreign countries after retirement. So-called trade lobbyists to enrich their own pockets with big foreign money behind them? Anyhow that's why I am down on those give-aways of our base factories. Not everyone can be a tech wiz. gg.

I think we are on our way again and hope the profit taking will stop every time we go up a couple 100 points until we at least hit 10000 for a breather. gg.
