Health care is also way too expensive. We all agree, I think that we need affordable universal health. Several thiings can be done.

1) Build more medical schools. There are thousands of qualified kids who want to go to medical school, but can't get in or pay for it. Have government spnsered schools or loans and let the kids pay it back with reduced salaries for a few years.

2) Not see medicine as a commodity, but rather as something a society needs and addresses it accordingly.

3) Allow medicare to negotiate drug prices and imports from Canada.

All other western democracies have figured it out. Only we don't have universal health care, so I guess we are the stupid one. And we really need a public option.

I have millions in health care for life, so I am fine. But I checked into getting a colonoscopy and they wanted $4,000. That procedure should only be a couple of hundred. so I passed on it.

And docs will take less from medicare contrary to what the right wing claims. They like medicare as they get paid! In my town they all just write off the difference between medicare and their costs.

The devil is in the detail of all 900 some pages of the Obamacare bill. A lot of it has to be simplified and rewritten. Hard to do in this partisan atmosphere where one side wants to do away with it.

If the Dems hold the Senate and the WH and make some gains in the House (at the expense of TP reps) then maybe we will see some progress on this front. If the Pubs take the Congress and the Presidency then OCare is out, but those guys will have to deal with the cries of pain from the public when their market based initiatives are implemented.
