I have a 160M in my work PC and use it. What OS do you use???? How many apps do you have open??? 95 and NT both have utils that will show you your memory usage. Setup a display of page faults and see how many your getting steady state and when switching betweeb apps. BTW: If you have a Pentium that doesn't use 430HX (Server) chipset you will slow your machine down ~15% by adding more than 64M. In all these chipsets only the first 64M is cacheable by the L2 cache controller.
