John --

I didn't realize that's what would happen to the out of the money calls. I have a pile of Nov. 17.5s, bought in anticipation of the GTE announcement, that were worthless yesterday and today are in the money. This time I got lucky.

I wonder what the chances are of another offer. I asked one of my Amati contacts and was told it didn't seem likely. We then discussed who would be the most threatened by TI and names like NEC, LU, and ADI were brought up. I don't know about Cisco. Perhaps they're content with buying the ADSL.

The story might not be over yet.

Cheers!
