Dick - They decided to do the private placement now because they need to go ahead NOW with the development of the new Brightlight laser product line. Waiting for a few more months would really stall progress -- and miss a lot of opportunities for sales.

Regarding XRL -- while it might initially be used for research, I'm sure it is the company's intention that it become a viable production method for quantities of chips in due time.

What we really should be looking at is developments in some of the other brightlight laser systems like disk drive systems etc. which will build revenue and income.--Dick Martin

Dick, I agree with you 100%. The XRL is an exciting project that in time will play a big role in JMAR. Right now as you said, we should be looking at equally big markets in Micromachining, and the Disk Drive business. These are apt to kick in big in 1998. The lightknife should also play a factor in 1998.

And I am not saying that XRL will not play a role in 1998, just that until JMAR comes out with their tests and plans, we should concentrate on what is on the table in front of us now. Especially after JM stated that JMAR's BrightLight lasers are superior to others in its class. Big statement, with a big impact.
