Brasco, I know what you mean and I think your post was excellent in describing how a lot of people feel about the current market. But despite all of the volatility, the major indexes are only slightly higher than they were in January. To a lot people its just not worth the risk.

For me, if you're going to be a trader or investor, it's become more important than ever not take any one thing at face value. I can't go by just P.E. ratio or the 200 day moving avg. I have to understand the stock, the stock relative to its sector, the market trend and both from a technical as well as a fundamental basis. You have to see what everybody else is doing. The Momo crowd, the value guys checking the ROE and the TA guys checking the RSI.

It's like driving a car. Make sure the brakes are working and that you have enough gas and then check the weather report and watch out for other cars.
