No, it's a fact. Right now, if Obama wanted to get rid of Bernanke, he couldn't. He doesn't have the authority. Only Congress can impeach Bernanke. That's how it works. Presidents appoint, Congress confirms and only Congress can impeach and remove the Fed Chairman.
But the president can not reappoint him when his term is up............which means your original claim that Bernanke is there for life is incorrect.

All Obama could do is ask for Bernanke's resignation. Then, if he didn't get it, make it public. He could fire Tim Geithner tomorrow.
