Great points. I would love an Obama/Cain presidential race. Think of all the good it would do for younger American's who are identified as black and can more freely empower themselves through education and building skill levels for leading a productive life. The biggest pressure on many youth keeping them from succeeding besides a weak family support network and crime on the streets was not political ideology but being laughed at for talking or acting 'white'

I think the other part of that, is that Obama is a self made intellectual, but Cain made lots of money which the Republicans value over education.

<<I find it interesting that conservatives who like Herman Cain constantly point out that he is a "self-made man" who lifted himself up without help from anybody. Barack Obama wasn't born rich, either. But it seems the same people who believe Herman Cain is self-made also believe Obama was given special breaks because he is black.

The assumption seems to be that a black man who is a liberal must have been the beneficiary of all the ways our society is set up to unfairly discriminate against white people and in favor of the success of minorities. (We've all noticed that, right? It explains why most of the CEOs in this country are black men and women, if you define "most" as being less than 1%.)

But a black man who is conservative must never have had one bit of help, nor any advantage due to Affirmative Action.
