Lindy claims Cain had 10 days to come up with a coherent response. If that is true he squandered 10 days.

i think he did a good job with greta too, but gosh, i wanted to ask cain why, before the greta interview, he did not call the in-house lawyer at the nat restaurant assoc., peter apparently is his name, and ask him to run down the details of the settlement, e.g., what were the specific allegations, how much money was paid, what were their names, what were the terms of the settlements, etc. unless the in-house lawyer is dead or has some mental issues now, i don't see why cain could not have done that so he could answer all the tiny details greta was asking. all i can say is that is what i would have done rather than rely on my memory for something that happened between 1996 and 1999 (those were the times cain said he worked at the nra.) -- especially for an important nationwide interview with greta that could determine my fate in the primaries. if cain has incorrectly recalled some info, it makes him look not so good.

<.it will be on Video tomorrow, no doubt....>

Should Cain become the GOP nominee, you can bet that the DNC has already prepared a couple versions of Cain speaking on this issue where he first denies knowledge and then comes forth with limited knowledge in his interview with van Sustern.

I tend to agree with LB. Cain waited too long before responding to Politico.

A Herman Cain announcement on FOX something like: "Yesterday, we were contacted by Politico, an internet source on national politics and the upcoming presidential election. They asked us to respond to a charge of sexual harassment by myself against two former female employees of the National Restaurant Association. They did not identify the employees or give us any details which would permit an immediate and direct reply to their query. We told Politico to expect a response in (x) days.

While Politico did not provide any detail of the charges, we can provide you and the interested public the following information:

There was a charge brought against me while I was (title) at the Association. I instructed my staff and counsel to investigate and report back. The woman and her attorney demanded a significant sum of money to go away. After the charge was found to be baseless, the woman settled for a two-three month's salary and left the association. My counsel filled me in on those details. As far as the second charge goes, I am not aware of one nor am I aware of the association taking any action in respect to a second charge.

We are conducting our own review and investigation of Association records and in conversations with key staff during my 2 1/2 year tenure at the Association. If any new information surfaces, we will immediately share it with FOX and the general public. Thank you."
