CBS Broadcasts 'Sexual Assault' Claims Against Herman Cain

http://www.freerepublic.com/%5Ehttp://newsbusters.org/blogs/matthew-balan/2011/11/02/cbs-broadcasts-sexual-assault-claims-against-herman-cain

On Wednesday's Early Show, CBS's Betty Nguyen incorrectly reported that Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain had been accused of "sexual assault" by two women. Nguyen later accurately reported that the women actually leveled sexual harassment allegations against Cain.

The fill-in news anchor used the erroneous term during a 14-second news brief 37 minutes into the 7 am Eastern hour: "One of two women who accuse Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain of sexual assault wants to speak out. The woman's lawyer say she wants to be released from a confidentiality agreement, so that she can publically respond to Cain's recent claims regarding the case."

>> You guys are acting like the lefties acted in defending Clinton during the 1992 campaign. Gennifer Flowers had an audiotape and they still didn't believe her.

Wait a minute. If they produce any evidence, I'll change my tune at once and declare myself to have been wrong about Cain. And that may happen yet.

But decade-old allegations without any evidence at all of wrongdoing just don't pass the smell test. I can much more easily envision Karl Rove or some other political expert going after some dirt on Cain, coming up with a little bit then ginning up more.

There is no doubt that politically, Cain is no match for Rove.

It is simple. STOP THE INNUENDO AND PRODUCE THE EVIDENCE.

I would have to say, up front, that telling a woman she looks good is not sexual harassment in any sense of the word as far as I'm concerned.

I think the bottom line is whether you do something toward a woman that you wouldn't do toward a man in the same situation. Inviting a business associate for drinks -- even in your hotel suite, doesn't rise to that level.

This isn't Clinton showing his pecker to Paula Jones. If it turns out he did something more aggressive then we'll see.

Clinton lied to a grand jury, lied to a federal judge, lied to Congress, and lied to the American people, just to try and beat a sexual harassment lawsuit and deny a lowly clerk (Paula Jones) her right to due process in a court of law. A suit he later settled out of court for almost a million dollars.

Clinton took sexual advantage of a star struck teenage intern (Monica Lewinsky) who was entrusted to his employ, and at the same time, caused a huge uptick in oral sex and oral STD's amongst the teenage population... for after all, oral sex isn't sex, or IS it?

Clinton groped a life-long supporter and campaign worker (Kathleen Wiley) who was seeking employment to compensate for the recent loss of her spouse, leading head femi-nazi Gloria Steinem to pronounce a "one grope" pass rule.

Clinton RAPED Juanita Broderick... a charge that was never denied by Mr. Clinton.

The stories were ignored, silenced, downplayed, and/or defended.

The women were investigated, ridiculed, tarnished, and trashed.

The perpetrator was hailed, lauded, and proclaimed as the "best president ever" by Helen Thomas.

Just ONE of these SCANDALS, would be enough to tar and feather ANY person with an (R) by their name, relegating them for all eternity to the trash bin of shame. Throw in the campaign cash scandals, technology transfer scandals, Elian Gonzales, Waco, Ruby Ridge, Whitewater, and a slew of mysterious deaths of people who were getting ready to testify or knew too much, and it's enough to sink the Bismark, Titanic, and entire 7th fleet with ease. It just illustrates how absolutely hypocritical and biased themedia is.

Bill, I have not seen anything that is particularly damning for Cain.

Maybe he came on a little too strong to some of his subordinates. That can definitely tarnish his character, but for all this to rise to the level of "sexual assault" is nonsense.

My only disappointment is that Cain could have handled this better. But there is an obvious smear campaign going on against Cain. Perhaps from a Republican primary opponent? If so, I'd sure like to know who.
