Now you are talking, bentway. I WANT them to raise taxes, especially on the rich. But what is pure partisan bullshit is for you to really believe that is going to happen. First off, the GOP is in the ascendancy, like it or not, and I don't. That means the GOP is going to slam down any attempt to raise taxes. I would be my house on that. Second, Obama has now pushed for an gotten a payroll tax DECREASE twice! Your own damned Democrats are LOWERING taxes, not increasing them. So exactly why do you think anyone in leadership today is going to raise taxes? Man, can I have some of what you are smoking? bentway, I'm with you 100% on the possible solutions to the Entitlement problems. They are entirely solvable. In fact, our debt and deficits are also entirely solvable. However, the leaders in both the GOP and the Dem party are not interested in solution, because they don't recognize it as a problem. They all need to go learn the 10 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Folks, why are so many of you living in fantasy land? The mathematics are clear. Stop denying the math and let's have a rational debate about how to get our country back in good fiscal shape, so that our economy can grow.

I just look at history and the times during WWII when Hitler was pounding "the empire" and the Londoners could not sleep peacefully for a single night then. The empire was threatened very similar to what we are going through today where our very existence is threatened. And then Churchill raised taxes even raising them in the countries they ruled over such as India. We are mocking the Greeks for leading their country down the drain. But we are ignoring a similar situation in our country where the "Grover Norquist" law prevails not the US law. I sure do hope that the OWS turn their attention to folks like Bill Reilly, Sean Hannity, Limbaugh, FOX News and give them their own dose for preaching on behalf of that 1%. I was heartened to see some Republican law makers starting to speak out against Norquist. I was also heartened to see the Tea Party wandering lost in the political world unable to find a candidate who would toe their hardline. But I am patiently awaiting for these folks to start toeing the line that will benefit the country.
