There is a Soldiers union. Next meeting is at Roselawn in Toronto. Bring your ouija board. One thing the soldiers union is against is job security. Seniority as a means of getting out of volunteer duty was advanced as a part of the platform. Strike Breakers were welcomed as a new labour initiative. Allowing alternative lifestyle members to pick designers uniforms by Versace was high on the agenda. Women in the military getting equal pay for kitchen duty was eagerly put forward as well as volunteering for these tasks. Not allowing disciplinary duty to take jobs from volunteers was a strong point of discussion. I really think Clinton spoiled it with the gays in the military thing. The navy did not want to protest it too loudly nor to be seen to not protest. The were caught between the devil made us do it and the deep blue. Also it ruined one of the best draft deferrments I ever had. Showing up in lipstick carrying a handbag and saying "I am not gay, sign me up you fresh thing," always worked for me. If the sargeant looked too interested I always inquired if a history of rheumatic heart and schizophrenia and syphilis would disqualify me, and whether or not I had to give up smoking marijauana. Last time I was at the board they said they were looking for people with those qualifications and the marijuana was ok as long as I didn't inhale. -------------------------------------------- The whole Russian Commie thing was started when the Russian Army struck in 1917. Don't blame them. But when it spreads to teachers its time to draw thje line. That could get dangerous. If johnny stays home from school he might learn to read in order to order a pizza from the menu while mom's at work and there goes the whole ball game. ------------------------------------------------
