If he's correct, I wonder if there will be a backlash towards Compaq for selling the naive those non-upgradeable, underpowered MediaGX boxes - with DELL getting the bulk of the replacement business.

I can see the DELL adds - "

$50 rebate to all MediaGX owners when purchasing a new Dell Pentium II system - put your MediaGX machine in an envelope and mail it to us in Austin, Texas. Or, keep the MediaGX and we'll refund you $75!
