According to dictionary definition, "innovative" is pretty much synonomous to "inventive". Just what have they improved upon? Very minor little stuff. A little while back, Sal Habash listed 5 reasons why he liked IE over Netscape. Is this what you consider innovative?
Mostly, what MSFT has done with everyone else's ideas is to do a strict copy. Very little value added, if any at all, especially given the size of the company and the length of time that they have been around.
