Dave -
I, for one, agree with you that the POWs have not led to short-term profits, expressed in terms of a couple of weeks. I believe that they are valid opportunities, and I respect the heck out of Doug's TA abilities and the exhaustive effort on the part of all the other contributors. I will continue to follow the POW's in this, and other, market environments.
I totally understood the point that you were making from the get-go, and it was not kosher for you to be slammed because of someone else implying that your intentions were different. Thanks for the time that you spent putting the numbers together - it is great for everyone to be working with the same information.
Rick M.

Dave & Instock
I appreciate your give and take on Dave's basic research. I recall conversations around 10/24 mentioning that those stocks that rebound more quickly than others would tend to be the better investments overall. This comparison helps to identify these stocks. Perhaps this wasn't your initial intent, but the relative information is in your numbers.

Your original note has also given us the opportunity to THINK about the broader picture and to understand a little better how the POWs fit into that picture.
At first look, a comparison to the DOW seemed reasonable, but as Instock pointed out, comparing it to NASDAQ is more realistic. I for one have learned something.
It's give and take.... discussion.... that helps us all learn. All though I have the curiosity, I don't have nearly enough time to do the research and I greatly appreciate what all of you share.

As a novice I feel the DIS reports and the POWs are an incredible gift from some very generous and incredibly hard working group of people.
I don't have the resources to invest in all of them, but with their initial content and additional skills gleened from all the discussion on these threads, here is a fantastic learning opportunity that I doubt I could find anywhere else.

Thank you Dave, Thank you Instock, Thank you Sergio, Doug, and everyone else!

Carolyn

Dave...I for one, appreciate any and all observations which help me to better understand the stocks that I own. This includes those that are solely used to promote discussion. I also approve of all comments which amplify, correct or clarify those observations. Instocks comments about the Dow vs small Nasdaq stocks falls into that catagory. So thanks Dave for sharing the initial POW facts and thanks Instock for fine tuning them.

Bob

Dave,

I just read your comparison post for the first time. I think it's fantastic!!!!!! I sincerely hope that you will be able to find the time to update the comparison (maybe include equal dollar amnt. totals and figure out a way to include more recent POW's???? Please??). Maybe do a week to week////month to month////qtr to qtr spreadsheet kind of thing?
